The Mazza Law Group experienced Blizzard® conditions on August 10th! No, there wasn’t snow in the office, but yummy Dairy Queen Blizzard® ice cream treats. On that day, the firm bought Blizzards® for all attorneys and staff members to help raise funds for The Children’s Miracle Network. Dairy Queen set aside August 10th as a day to donate all of the money from its Blizzard® sales to The Children’s Miracle Network. Everyone at The Mazza Law Group was pleased to help kids and get a sweet treat in return!

On September 10, 2006 Pennsylvania National Guard members who served, and continue to serve, their state and nation in support of the war on terrorism since September 11, 2001 assembled for “Operation Salute” at the Pennsylvania State University’s Campus. The event also recognized the Pennsylvania Guard members who were deployed to Louisiana and Mississippi in response to Hurricane Katrina. This patriotic “thank you” event featured a huge tailgate for the troops around Beaver Stadium, a special formal ceremony held in the Bryce Jordan Center and musical entertainment. The Mazza Law Group, PC volunteered for this fantastic event and 14 volunteers consisting of firm members and their families spent time feeding the troops on this special day in which we thanked our troops for protecting our families and our freedoms. It was a rewarding experience and not one we will soon forget.

On Friday, August 4th, our most recent legal intern, Veronica Boyer, will be leaving us to return to school at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. Veronica joined us in late May to spend her 1L summer gaining hands-on experience in a variety of legal fields. She is considering pursuing a legal career in medical malpractice or environmental law. Among her successes this summer was the drafting of a brief on an illegal search and seizure question that resulted in the dismissal of all charges in a very serious drug case.
Veronica graduated from Penn State University in December 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Crime, Law & Justice and returned to cozy State College to celebrate surviving her first year of law school. We were delighted to have her join our staff for the short months of her break. For Veronica, it’s back to the books! We will miss her!
